It Begins…

it begins

Hi, guys. Floating Sunfish here with a short status update.

It’s been a very long time since our last release and my last post, so I want to start off with a sincere apology for all the inexcusable delays I’ve caused. I take full responsibility for all the sad, lonely, Mitsudomoe-less nights you’ve all had to endure.

That being said, I want to explain that I’ve been trying to stay on top of things in real life these last few months — and I failed miserably. I got some things done, but the lists just kept growing and I never really got around to the things that really made me happy, which is making something we can all enjoy together.

So starting today, I’m going to minimize working on my real-life to-do lists. I’ll dedicate a few hours to them whenever I feel like it, but going back to scanlation and fansubbing will take top priority for all my free time. I now realize that real life will never stop getting in the way, so I’ll just have to be more aggressive with my free time.

Is this going to backfire horribly? Only one way to find out!

(Oh, and for those who were wondering, I did get regularized last March so I now have a stable source of income. Which should help out a lot.)

See you guys on the next update, which would hopefully be a new release this time.

Floating Sunfish, out!

I just found this site while looking for the manga translations and was pleasently surprised to see you’re still at it. Thanks for your service!

      You’re welcome, Shino! 😊
Many thanks for the kind words! They really mean a lot!

Oh, and in case anyone else is reading this, the only reason I’m currently the “most active” member (who also causes all the bottlenecks) is because all other group members and volunteers have already put in their hard work.
All that remains is to finalize everything and put them all together, which is harder than it sounds.

But we should get to that finish line eventually, especially since I’m dropping off everything else to focus on these things again.

      Naturally. 😉

Wouldn’t be able to accomplish anything if I burn out or get bedridden!
I’m just focusing most of my efforts on the things that would actually make me happy versus what I’ve been doing, which was pointlessly trying to stay on top of things.

Hey man, thank you for all your service all these years. Please take care of your health.

It has been more than a decade that I know this series and I am happy that there are still fans for it up to this day. This series is really one of a kind and it is a hidden gem.

I really have to thank you for translating Mitsudomoe manga.

I bought the manga volumes twice – in my own native language and in Japanese. However, my publisher stopped publishing later volumes and that left me with the remaining Japanese volumes.

The language barrier is very high for me. Will you translate the remaining volumes?

Ah, I take it you’re either French or Russian?
Those are the only languages I’ve seen Mitsudomoe localized in, but in any case, you’re welcome! 😊

Of course we will be translating all the remaining Volumes!
Mitsudomoe is just too good to let it fade into obscurity.

Consider this a preview of upcoming releases, but scanlating the manga will take a backseat for a while as we prioritize Mitsudomoe’s remaining Drama CD tracks.
I figure these would be more enjoyable to listen to since they’re essentially unaired episodes (minus the lack of visuals, of course).

We’ll also be prioritizing another beloved slice-of-life series alongside Mitsudomoe, so please look forward to it! 😊

Scanlating the manga will resume once we finish fansubbing everything else we have.

      Hi, ForeverHero! 😊

Thank you for your continued patience and support!

It will probably be a bit longer for the next Mitsudomoe release, but rest assured that it’s the second item on our to-do list so we’ll get to it eventually!

      Thanks for the suggestion!
I’ll consider it carefully since we do have an inactive private Discord for the group (the inactivity is my fault, of course).

But setting it up will have to wait until we’re done with the first few releases.

As a quick update, the first Kodomo Gakkyuu chapter still has 11 pages to Typeset (18/29), but it should be finished relatively soon.
