Kodomo Gakkyuu RAWs Wanted!

For those of you who don’t know, before Norio-sensei worked on her runaway hit, Mitsudomoe, there was Kodomo Gakkyuu (子供学級).

A 4-volume manga of what can be considered the prototype of Mitsudomoe, as the art style is very reminiscent of Mitsudomoe Vol. 01 and its characters even share some similarities with the ones that will later be created for Mitsudomoe.

I managed to find Kodomo Gakkyuu Volume 1 somewhere online (you can get it in the RAWs Section of the site), but am unfortunately missing Volumes 2-4.

I know for a fact that Volumes 1-4 were once available on http://mangazips.blog.jp (WARNING: NSFW!) earlier this year, but unfortunately all links have been taken down.

I feel that this short-lived manga is a very important piece of Mitsudomoe history, and would very much appreciate it if you, or anyone you know can share RAWs of Volumes 2-4 if you have them, or know where I can get them.

Since it’s a relatively short series, I’d love to translate it and let the world know what ultimately led to Mitsudomoe.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It looks like the files kept getting taken down over and over. In any case, volume 1 seems to be available in a bunch of places, but I’ve not seen hide nor hair of the others save for the broken Manga Zips links, and there’s nothing there but malware.

Of course, I was already planning on buying the lot of them legit, which would be easy enough. I know almost nothing about the series except that it’s proto-Mitsudomoe, but that’s reason enough for me to own it, and I thought it would be a good consolation for me once I get to volume 19. Hopefully someone will know better places to look for zip files than I do, but if it comes down to it I could debind the pages and scan the thing myself. In the meantime, though, I’ll keep an eye out.

Dang, I was afraid it would come to debinding a personal copy (that’s some true dedication right there), but in the off chance that you ever end up doing it for the fanbase, then let me be the first to commend you for your dedication to the cause.

It’s nice to see fellow fans of this overlooked series even though the art looks a bit primitive by today’s standards. 🙂

I skimmed through it last night and got quite a lot of laughs. No wonder it got praised by the author of Super Radical Gag Family at one point.

Here’s hoping someone reposts it again in the near future. 😉
